Sustaining Lives, One Meal at a Time
Since 2012, ARAHA has been a lifeline for families in Sudan and the Horn of Africa. As a frontline organization with a team on the ground, we’ve delivered critical aid during times of war, drought, and famine. Now, we’re focusing on expanding our Feeding Centers, where we provide life-saving meals to families in desperate need. Your contribution can make a direct impact.
Providing ongoing relief for the crisis in 3 areas: Khartoum State, North Kordofan and Al Jazirah State. We’re focusing our immediate efforts on providing the most urgent relief, including:
● Emergency medicines, medical supplies, fuel for electric generators, and food to affected hospitals.
● Food, non-food items (NFIs), WASH and cash assistance for displaced people and the host community.
● Psychosocial support for the displaced people.
HAA prioritises critical areas vital to enhancing community resilience and overall well-being, including:
● Combating hunger
● Providing health and medical aid
● Ensuring safe and clean water for all
● Strengthening local communities
● Promoting and providing education
● Religious duties
● Responding to emergencies
● Caring for children and orphans
● Delivering sustainable solutions
We deliver vital food packages and conduct needs assessments, prioritising widowed women, orphans, and the elderly, adapting supplies to local needs. Additionally, we're opening our first community kitchen to provide hot meals for families in temporary shelters, creating sustainable feeding programmes.
In Uganda’s Kiryandongo refugee settlement, we are currently supporting over 25,000 families—many of whom have lost everything. Our efforts include:
● Conducting Urgent Needs Assessment to identify the needs and priorities of the refugee population
● Food distribution to cover the immediate basic food needs of the refugees
● Supporting emergency kitchens that provide fresh meals daily.
● Offering Mental Health Screening Training workshops that focus on delivery of screening questionnaires for depression, anxiety and PTSD.
● Transferring patients from the camp for treatment and surgical procedures in various hospitals in Kampala, as well as conducting medical assessments for children.
